For the financial year ending June 2009, An Meá has purchased 136.15 tons of Greenhouse Friendly™ approved emissions abatement. As a result, our net carbon footprint for the year is zero.

The process of complying with the requirements of Greenhouse Friendly™ certification during our first year with the program has been one of ‘learning-by-doing’. We have discovered some areas in which we can improve our practices.

For instance, this year we are refining our previous estimates of road transport emissions by explicitly tracking business travel by taxi and rental car. This will inform us about whether road transport represents a significant source of emissions that we should reduce or eliminate.

In addition, we will expand the scope of our Emissions Monitoring Plan (EMP) to include the
Haz & Zard products and associated printed materials.

The firsthand process of refining our own systems for compliance and data gathering will position us to provide the best service and guidance to our clients.
